Once gas prices hit $3 a gallon, a high school teacher in western Wisconsin decided to see a man about a horse. Riding his horse to work each day saves Arcadia art teacher about $40 a week on gasoline.
He’s also doing it to make a statement — riding his horse to work is one way he can conserve on gasoline, he said.
It takes McKeeth an hour and 15 minutes to ride his horse from home to Arcadia High School. The principal allowed him to build a pen for his ride — but drew the line at McKeeth’s request for an electric fence.
