Weblogs Inc Bought By AOL

Is it the golden tap on the shoulder, or the awful brown-colored one (as ’s recent tendencies point to)? That’s right, , run by Jason Calacanis, is being sold to AOL. After a two year run, it is being sold as it is reaching exponentially high heights.

With 130 bloggers and 15 full-time staff it is starting to take the world by storm, chinese versions of its blogs are beginning to pop up.

AOL, wisely, intends to keep the Weblogs Inc., network separate from its AOL content network. This is one of the first large-scale Web 2.0 purchases and for AOL, definately leaping in at the deep end.

The buzz is definately out though, with everyone and their brother talking about the possibility of the sale, or the sale, or the consequences of the sale. Jason is of course, keeping mum about the whole thing. Expect some further news today regarding the sale.
